How It Works

When you create a pool, you become the administrator as well as a pool user. The administrator defines the pool and controls the pool users. Once a pool is created, you will receive an invite token via e-mail. You then send this link to everyone you wish to participate in the pool. Invitees follow the link, create their own user accounts, and build their teams. Go here for more information on the pool features.

The basic process is as follows:

  1. Create A Pool

During the pool creation process, the administrator account is created. The administrator is also the first pool user. Your pool is initially unlocked. The only real configuration here is the name of your pool and the number of players each user must select. If necessary, users can have teams with less than the required amount of players.

  2. Invite Others

A pool invite token (link) is e-mailed to the administrator. This link contains a password for your specific pool and those who follow the link can create users within your pool. Make sure you also mention any specific rules your pool follows like number of goalies, defencemen, future trades etc.

  3. Create The Teams

Each user will then log-in and build their team. While a pool is unlocked, users cannot view other teams and only see a summary of the number of players and positions. Not even the pool administrator can view the players selected by other users.

  4. Manually Add Users (Optional)

The pool administrator can manually add as many users as required. Once added, the administrator needs to log-in as the new user and create the new team. This works great if you conduct a draft and want full control over how teams are entered.

  5. Lock The Pool

Once the administrator is satisfied with the users in the pool and the make-up of the teams, the pool should then be locked. This allows the viewing of other teams, pool standings and prevents any team modifications or new users from joining the pool. The administrator can lock and unlock the pool at any point in the season.

  6. Gloat & Harass Your Poolmates

Once your pool is running, just follow the stats and verbally punish those who fall behind using the smack-talk feature.
